The Role

Alvara is hiring a Chief Technology O6cer (CTO) to architect, own, and scale the technical backbone ofour platform. As a founding executive, you will be responsible for transforming our product vision into a

secure, scalable, and elegant system that spans blockchain traceability, internal AI agents, IoT integrations, and consumer-facing interfaces.

You will lead the buildout of AlvaraAI—our internal LLM-based system for supply chain, compliance, and customer operations—and own the architecture of our blockchain-powered traceability infrastructure,

smart packaging integration, and developer environment. You’ll work cross-functionally with product, operations, retail, and commercial teams to ensure that our technical roadmap supports business velocity

without compromising ethical standards or performance integrity.

You’ll also represent technology strategy to our board and investors, manage technical due diligence, and build out an engineering organization capable of scaling this platform globally.

Key Deliverables in the First 12–18 Months

• Build and launch v1 of the AlvaraAI platform: deploy internal AI agents to support sourcing, QA,

logistics, and customer interaction

• Architect and deploy the blockchain traceability infrastructure, integrating with NFC/QR packaging and supplier-side data

• Design and lead implementation of an interoperable product ledger and consumer-facing blockchain explorer

• Stand up the technical infrastructure for data capture and behavioral analytics across all digital and retail touchpoints

• Hire and manage the founding engineering team (backend, AI/ML, data infra)

• Lead API and modular architecture strategy to support future white-label or third-party licensing

• Define the technical roadmap for platform scalability across new verticals

• Ensure GDPR, CCPA, and global privacy/security compliance from day one

Who You Are

You are a deeply technical systems architect with the ability to build and lead from zero. You’ve operated across stack layers—data, AI, security, blockchain, and APIs—and know how to translate high-concept ideas into resilient, user-centric infrastructure. You balance velocity with accountability and have experience building teams, products, and platforms that hold up to scale, scrutiny, and complexity.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of technical leadership experience, ideally as CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Platform, or Lead Systems Architect

• Proven experience building and scaling complex, multi-layered infrastructure platforms

• Deep knowledge of cloud-native backend architecture (AWS, GCP, containers, microservices, etc.)

• Demonstrated experience building or integrating AI/ML systems, including LLM-based tooling and agent frameworks

• Working knowledge of blockchain systems (e.g. Ethereum, Polygon, Solana) and experience with smart contract deployment or traceability use cases

• Strong architectural understanding of APIs, authentication, data pipelines, and security

• Experience managing technical teams in early-stage or growth environments

• Comfort operating in highly collaborative and cross-functional leadership settings

• Commitment to ethical system design and long-term platform integrity

Preferred Experience

• Designed or deployed blockchain-integrated consumer or supply chain products

• Built LLM-driven internal tooling or agent-based workflows

• Experience in retail tech, commerce infrastructure, IoT, or smart packaging systems

• Previous technical founder or early-stage platform architect experience

• Experience building AI governance, data protection, or modular licensing frameworks

Compensation

Salary Range: $170,000 – $190,000 base

Equity: Founding team grant level
